Etching Afternoons –
introduction to working with line
With Rebecca Vincent
Saturdays| June 11/25| 13.30 –
16.30 |
Try etching
for the first time or brush up your skills after a long absence! With
only 4 places on this course, you will get time and space to explore
this mysterious printing method. Over two afternoons you will have
adequate time to prepare a copper plate, take it home to work on with an
etching needle then etch in ferric chloride and print it the following
week. We use the acrylic-resist etching system which is much less toxic
than the traditional process but still enables you to do beautiful fine
line work. If figurative drawing isn’t you thing, don’t be put off as
you can make fabulous prints just by exploring line and mark-making to
create abstract patterns. Book early to ensure you get one of the 4
places!
