Decoration: Autumn Texture

Take the beautiful colours, shapes and
textures of Autumn as a starting point for this mixed media weekend
course. We will explore a wide range of surface decoration techniques to
create unique mixed media pieces. You will learn to paint with dyes, use
collage effectively, make rubbings and use simple printmaking techniques
to build up rich layers of mark making. You can even have a try at cutting
a piece of lino to make your own printing block. There will be lots of
practical demonstrations and you will have plenty of time to develop
individual ideas to create really interesting work. Mandy’s surface
decoration courses are always a bonanza of methods and materials that
elicit great positive feedback from everyone who takes part.
MANDY PATTULLO
is an artist who works with textiles, printmaking, photography and artists
books. She trained as a surface pattern designer and as a teacher. She
exhibits widely in the North East and is a professional selected member of
Designed and Made. As well as teaching for CLL she work for ARP Design,
for the NHS on an arts project in a hospital and is involved in community
arts .
